Is this Program Right for You?

Special scholarships of at least $800 or more are available for this program!

Choose from a variety of courses in Business, Economics, Social Sciences & Humanities, Language Studies, Science and more!  Global Maximum Educational Opportunities (G-MEO) offers two 4-week summer program sessions allowing students to select a number of courses while studying in China. Undergraduate students will be able to enroll in 1 or 2 courses per session.

Global Maximum Educational Opportunities (G-MEO) has created an English language, US-style learning environment, The Chengdu American Center for Study Abroad. The first summer program session is here at the Chengdu Center.  Located in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province in China's Southwest, the Center incorporates various course offerings from several U.S. universities that have partnered with the program.

Chengdu has a population of over 14 million, and is a booming economic center. China's "Go West" policy aims to build Chengdu into a financial and cultural center on par with Beijing and Shanghai. It abounds with urban energy and entrepreneurial dynamism; its new subway system opened in 2010. Yet with a balmy, sub-tropical climate and a slower pace than Beijing or Shanghai, Chengdu is known for its quality of life. It is famous for its world-class cuisine, leisurely tea houses, local opera and historic temples.

Student Testimonials

"My study abroad experience so far in Chengdu has been amazing to say the least.  With such small classes we are able to have several discussions with our professors and talk more deeply about the topics that interest us, it's a great learning experience.....

On a note of the actual city of Chengdu, it's one of the coolest cities I have been in. The people here are extremely friendly and has some of the best food I've ever had. This city is alive in its own way that is very Chinese and it's really helped me gain a better sense of the Chinese culture. The dorms here are extremely nice and it has been fairly easy to adjust to life here. This is an incredible city in China and all the city motto is "A city you never want to leave" and I can already understand that feeling. I hope that in the future more American University students start coming on this program and see the great opportunities that Chengdu has to offer."
