A top ten UK University that is renowned for research-led teaching, the International Summer School at the University of Exeter offers students from around the world the opportunity to learn while enjoying one of the most beautiful areas in Great Britain.  Exeter lies on the south west coast and is fantastic for students wanting a traditional university environment with an international seaside flavor and academic appropriate excursions.

For a more specific view, please see this two minute film.

The International Summer School at Exeter is a unique way to study in the UK.  Students choose one academic "pathway" for 4 credits, which incorporate interdisciplinary courses taught by Exeter faculty from a range of departments, allowing students to immerse in a topic and see the subject from a number of different viewpoints.

For more information on the specific pathways and courses available, see the Exeter website.

For each pathway, lectures typically take place between 9.30am and 3.00pm and will consist of two sessions of two hours. Afternoon activities and day trips will tie into the academic program.

Course Equivalency: Click here to find out which courses on this program have already been equated to AU courses. Please note that you are NOT limited to just these courses. Students will need to request equivalency for courses which have not been previously reviewed.

Student Life

Students attending the International Summer School can expect much more than just the academic program. The University of Exeter is located in an area of Great Britain which is popular with tourists for its warm, sunny climate, spectacular natural scenery and sandy beaches. The city of Exeter is an historic and vibrant cathedral city, just over two hours from London by train.

Exeter is the regional capital of South-West England. It is a city steeped in history, with its famous cathedral dating back to Norman times and historic quay (above). There are lots of things to see and do – Exeter has a number of museums, theaters and galleries and a wide range of restaurants, pubs, bars, cafes and night clubs – all within walking distance of the main campus.

University staff and student buddies are here throughout your stay to help you make the most of your time at the University and a variety of cultural trips and social events have been organized so that you can get to know each other, the University and the UK.
