Korea: Yonsei University (Summer) - Academics

Courses

AU students directly enroll in Yonsei University for the International Summer Session and earn AU credit. In order to complete a full semester's work in only six weeks, ISS courses are highly intensive and fast-paced. Classes meet two class hours each day (three class hours for the Korean Language), four days a week (Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri), for 6 weeks. Course requirements include a mid-term examination, a final examination, and often a term paper. ISS students may take six or nine credits, i.e. the minimum load is two courses and the maximum is three courses.

The Yonsei University Summer Session offers courses primarily in the areas of International Relations, International Business, East Asian Studies and Korean Studies. Please visit the Yonsei University website for a list of courses offered during the Summer Session. Depending on student demand and teacher availability, some course availability may change. Students interested in taking Korean language courses will receive a Placement Test upon arrival.

Internships

As part of the Yonsei International Summer Session, students also have the option of applying for the special Global Business Internship program. This gives students a chance to experience the corporate work environment in Seoul. Applications for the Global Business Internship must be sent in conjunction with the ISS application. It is a one month program which takes place prior to the start of Summer Session courses. Please see the Yonsei website for more details.
