AustraLearn's
program at Murdoch
University gives students the chance to experience
Western Australia and to study in the State's capital
city, Perth. This sunny city of 1.38 million people
is large enough to be an exciting cosmopolitan city,
but small enough to offer a relaxed lifestyle that
is safe, friendly and inexpensive. Murdoch University
is committed to maintaining its reputation as a modern,
progressive institution with a flexible approach to
multi-disciplinary study.
AustraLearn, an Approved AU Abroad Program Provider, provides a variety
of top notch services to prepare students for a successful experience
abroad. Students are assigned a personal coordinator with whom they will
communicate prior to departure. AustraLearn also organizes an orientation
in Cairns, Northern Queensland during the first four days in Australia.
In addition to meeting other AustraLearn program participants, students
visit the Great Barrier Reef and a rain forest habitat where they have
a chance to discuss the culture of Australia and its relationship to
the overall study abroad experience. Upon arrival at Murdoch, students
participate in Week O (Orientation Week). It provides a chance for students
to go on campus tours, join campus clubs and societies, and accustom
themselves to life in Perth.
Housing
AustraLearn students studying at Murdoch live in self-catered shared
apartments. Each apartment contains 4 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms,
laundry, communal living areas and cooking facilities. Off-campus accommodation
can be secured with the Off-Campus Housing Officer upon arrival

Excursions
The International Office at Murdoch organizes a 10-day trip to a remote
area of Western Australia. More information can be obtained upon arrival
in Perth.
Courses
At Murdoch you can broaden your knowledge in subject areas not available
to you at your home institution while earning a full semester's worth
of American University credit. Some highlights of Murdoch's offerings
are: International and E-Business/Commerce, Information Technology/Software
Engineering, Law, Politics, Broadcasting, Film and Television (Media),
Multimedia, Communication and Culture, Aboriginal, Australian and Asian
Studies, Education, Psychology, Environmental Science, Biological Science,
