Student Life

AustraLearn's program at Adelaide University gives students the chance to experience South Australia and to study in the State's capital city, Adelaide. The university is internationally recognized as a top ranked, government funded, and leading research facility. Not only is this friendly town of one million people the gateway to Australia's Outback, but it is also center of economic, cultural, political, and social life in South Australia.

AustraLearn, an Approved AU Abroad Program Provider, provides a variety of top notch services to prepare students for a successful experience abroad. Students are assigned a personal coordinator with whom they will communicate prior to departure. AustraLearn also organizes an orientation in Cairns, Northern Queensland during the first four days in Australia. In addition to meeting other AustraLearn program participants, students visit the Great Barrier Reef and a rain forest habitat where they have a chance to discuss the culture of Australia and its relationship to the overall study abroad experience. Upon arrival in Adelaide students participate in an orientation program that includes information sessions and academic advising as well as several fun social events to encourage interaction with local Australian students.

Housing and Meals

Students attending Adelaide University can live in the on-campus residential colleges. Those students who haven't booked permanent accommodation may reserve temporary accommodation for their first week in Adelaide. Most temporary accommodation is single-bedroom furnished accommodation in a hostel or residential college.

Excursions

Special programs and excursions are organized by the university and in the past have included visits to Barossa Valley, Victoria Harbour, and Hahndorf. More information can be obtained upon arrival in Adelaide.
