Enjoy the beauty of University of Limerick's charming campus. |
Experience Ireland's
lyrical landscape and vibrant city life firsthand! Find out
for yourself how the emerald isle's population 'saved civilization'
from barbarians thanks to diligent scribes, and how the country,
crippled by a great potato famine, was able to rise to great
prominence in the EU community. Immerse yourself in rich
Irish history and exciting city life, while studying at one
of the country’s
most prominent institutions.
The University of Limerick (UL) distinguishes
itself as one of Europe's newest universities, founded in 1972, and
was the first new university established since the foundation of the
Irish State. Its large and wooded campus sits about three miles from
the ancient city of Limerick on the banks of the sparkling river Shannon. This modern institution is influenced by American higher education,
yet it distinguishes itself through an emphasis on traditional Irish
culture. The University has been accepting students from abroad for many
years, and now AU students can experience this uniquely Irish academic
community first-hand.
