Students gathered on UCL’s Portico. |
Prerequisites
- Must have completed sophomore year of college prior
to attending program.
- A minimum GPA of 3.3 is required (some
departments expect at least a GPA of 3.5 and a good background
in a relevant subject)
Courses
AU students directly enroll in UCL for either a semester
or for a full year and earn AU credit. Because you
are directly enrolling in UCL, an extensive course
catalog is available to you. UCL has one of the widest
ranges of degree programs in Britain. Subjects of
study include Anthropology, Art, Film Studies, Biology,
History and Physics, just to name a few. AU students
are integrated into life at UCL, taking classes together
with British and other overseas students. When students
apply for admission to study at UCL, they normally
apply to one academic department where they will take
at least half of their courses. Study abroad students
are sometimes admitted to two departments on a joint
basis. Students admitted to a single department are
also sometimes allowed to take one or two courses
in another department. For more on what courses are
available at UCL, see here.
Internships
Students may independently arrange their own internships
based upon personal contacts. Students must obtain prior approval from
their academic advisor to receive major credit for their internship
abroad.
