The beautiful buildings of Madrid.

Prerequisites

  • Since all coursework is conducted in Spanish at a high level, students are required to have completed Spanish Conversation and Composition I and II (or the equivalent) prior to attending the program. One or two Spanish topics course is strongly recommended.
  • Must have completed sophomore year of college prior to attending program.
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required

Courses

AU students directly enroll in UAM for either a semester or for a full year and earn AU credit. Universidad Autonoma de Madrid offers courses in a variety of subjects from political science and economics to art history and geography to telecommunications.

Information about study programs and courses can be found on the UAM Website. For information on timetables and study descriptions, please visit the web page of each faculty. Please note: Students should expect to all or most of their courses within one faculty. Visiting students can NOT take Primer Curso courses. Students are recommended to choose courses from the Segundo Curso or Tercer Curso only.

Students can also participate in the language partner program offered by the Office of International Relations to practice their language skills.

Internships

Students may independently arrange their own internships based upon personal contacts. Students must obtain prior approval from their academic advisor to receive major credit for their internship abroad. We do not recommend attempting to complete an internship during your first semester at AU.
