Rio de Janeiro is an exciting city located inside

Pontificia Universidade Católica do Rio de
Janeiro, called PUC-Rio for short, is a private non-profit
Catholic University located in Rio de Janiero. It
was created in 1941 in order to develop knowledge
based on humanistic values. Now with, approximately,
10,000 undergraduate students and 2,500 graduate students
PUC-Rio is internationally recognized as one of the
top five universities in Brazil and one of the two
best in Rio de Janeiro.
Study abroad students with advanced Portuguese language
skills can take classes in Portuguese while students
without Portuguese skills can take classes taught
in English. The classes taugth in Portuguese are taken
alongside local Brazilian students within three academic
centers: Center for Theology and Human Sciences, Center
for Social Sciences and the Center for Science and
Technology. Courses taught in English include subjects
related to culture, business, civilization, and history.
