Life in London
London is truly one of the most dynamic and exciting
cities in the world, offering students an unparalleled
environment in which to live and study. Whether your
interest is art and theater, politics and economics,
or film and music, it can all be found in abundance.
King’s College is in between the City of London,
which is the financial and legal centre of the capital,
and the West End with its shops, bars, theatres, museums
and other major tourist attractions. King's College
is composed of three campuses, all of which are in
the center of the city near the famous River Thames.
Already a leading university in London, King's College
was made even more famous by Dan Brown's novel The
DaVinci Code, in which the renowned Religion
Department library played a role.
Housing and Meals
Partner students are responsible for making housing
and meal arrangements independently. Once accepted, students are required
to submit a housing application. Provided the application is received
by the deadline, all students are provided housing in a college or inter-college
residence. Housing is provided primarily in either Halls of Residence
of self-catered apartments.
King’s College has two catered halls and four self-catering facilities.
The halls are traditional in arrangement with twin and single
rooms sharing communal bathrooms and kitchens on a corridor. With self-catered
apartments, bedrooms are arranged in a self-contained flat, usually for
four to nine students sharing a communal kitchen. King's students may
also apply to live in one of the Inter-collegiate halls which provide
an opportunity for residents to mix with students from all the Colleges
of the University.
All residences are served by public transportation and have easy access
to all the campuses by bus, underground or mainline train.
