Prerequisites
- Must have completed sophomore year of college
prior to attending program.
- This program is for business major and minors
only.
- Students should have completed some business coursework
before study at ICADE.
- Some Spanish language skills are recommended,
but there is no specific Spanish course prerequisites.
Courses
You can earn a full semester of American University
(AU) undergraduate credit during the ICADE program.
The academic program consists of 5 courses, including
a Spanish language and culture course and 4 business
related courses. The Spanish language course is available
at several language levels. Students will take a placement
exam upon arrival.
AU students normally choose from a list of business
courses that are taught in English. Students with
advanced Spanish language skills may be allowed to
take business courses in Spanish from the regular
ICADE curriculum.
Business courses taught in English often include:
- Economics of European Integration
- Operations Management
- International Marketing
- Business Negotiations
- International Business Economics
The cultural courses offered in English may include:
- Masterpieces of Spanish Literature
- Spanish History Post-modernity
- Spanish Culture and History through Film
All courses take place at the campus located at calle
Alberto Aguilera in the center of Madrid.
Internships
Students may independently arrange their own internships
based upon personal contacts. Students must obtain
prior approval from their academic advisor to receive
major credit for their internship abroad
