Life in Glasgow
Glasgow, Scotland's largest city, is a bustling, lively and cultural place. It has everything one would expect of a large cosmopolitan city - busy shopping streets and modern indoor malls, a wealth of pubs and restaurants, discos, clubs, cinemas, art galleries, parks, museums, and theatres. Glasgow is situated on the west coast of Scotland with ready access to the Highland countryside and less than an hour away from many attractions. The University of Glasgow has a beautiful, compact campus located in the green, park-like West End of the city.
Housing and Meals
Partner students are responsible for making housing and meal arrangements independently. After acceptance, students receive a Student Residence Guide from the University of Glasgow which includes a housing application. Students are housed primarily in either University Residence Halls or University flats; assistance with private accommodation can be provided as well. Glasgow guarantees accommodation to all visiting students provided their application form is received by their deadline.
University Halls are split into two categories: Catering or Self-Catering. Both types consist of single or shared study bedrooms and a range of communal rooms. Most are within easy walking distance of the main campus. University flats house between three to five students. Each flat is self-catering and offers single study bedrooms and a shared common living/kitchen area.
