Established in 1959, the Chinese University of Hong Kong was created through the integration of four colleges - Chung Chi College, New Asia College, United College and Shaw College - to carry on in Hong Kong the Chinese tradition of learning. Over the years, CUHK has developed into a prestigious, world-class university. It now has an enrollment of over 16,000 students and offers more than 1280 postgraduate and undergraduate programs. CUHK was the first university in Hong Kong to offer a student exchange and study abroad program, and now accepts 400 exchange and study abroad students every year.
