Application
AU Cairo deadlines require students to submit all
application materials to AU Abroad by January
20 (Fall and Full Year programs; and July
20 (Spring programs). This program is open
to American University students ONLY. Non-AU students
should apply directly to American University in Cairo.
Prerequisites
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required for participation
in this program.
In addition to the application materials listed on
our Apply page, students
are required to submit the following materials for
the AUC's application.
- AU
Cairo Application Form
- Official University Transcript
- Two Academic Letters of Recommendation (confidential)
- Personal Statement/Essay
- Course Study Plan (listing courses of interest)
- Three passport-size photographs (with names printed
on back)
- Student Data Form and a copy of passport

Visa Information
Upon acceptance, on-site staff at AUC will provide
students with a visa letter. AU Abroad will distribute
the letters to students. Students are responsible
for contacting the Egyptian
Embassy or Consulate to find out which additional
documents are needed to obtain a student visa.
