Life in Beirut
Lebanon offers a wide range of activities with numerous
historical sites, cultural events and lively nightlife.
Participants may visit sites of historical interest
such museums, archaeological sites and monuments.
Students can engage in numerous cultural activities
while in Beirut such as trips to art exhibitions and
the theatre, while visits to markets, shops, cafes
and restaurants will familiarize students with Lebanese
local culture and dialect. For information about life

Housing and Meals
Partner students are responsible
for making housing and meal arrangements independently.
Accommodation in the student dorms on the campus of
AUB is provided for visiting study abroad students.
Students are responsible for their own meals.
Schedule
The AU Beirut program is available for the Fall
or Spring semester or Full Year.
The 06/07 Academic Calendar should be announced
shortly, the 05/06 program dates should be used a
guide for tentative planning until the official academic
calendar is available.
Full Year (AUB): September - June
Fall Semester 2005 (AUB)*: **This
interferes with the Spring term at AU.**
September 17-18: International Student Orientation
September 20-23: Online course registration for abroad
students at AUC
September 26: Classes begin
November 4-7: Id Al Fitr, no classes
Dec. 23-Jan 6: Christmas and New Year's Vacation,
no classes
January 17: Last day of classes
Jan, 20- Feb. 2: Final Examinations
Spring Semester 2006 (AUB)*:
January 27-28: International student orientation
Jan. 31- Feb. 3: On-line registration
February 6: Classes begin
May 23: Classes End
June 1-June 14: Final Examinations
