Housing and Meals
In Beijing and Yantai, students live in either on-campus
residence halls or in a nearby hotel. Students are
responsible for their own meals; there are numerous,
inexpensive places to eat all over Beijing and Yantai.
Excursions
The program takes place in two main locations: Beijing
and the northern coastal city of Yantai. Classes will
be held in these two cities. There will also be various
excursions to such places as the Great Wall, and the
surrounding areas around both cities.
The excursions provide a wide range of opportunities
for participants to practice their language skills
and learn different aspects of Chinese culture from
ancient to modern times.

Summer 2008
Arrival*: 6/15/08
Departure**: 8/9/08
* The " Arrival " date is the day on which you need to
arrive at your site, NOT the date you leave the U.S. The
program starts on the "Arrival" date and this is the day
on which program-sponsored housing begins. If you arrive before this
date, you are responsible for your own housing. Do not expect to move
into program-sponsored housing early.
** The " Departure " date is the official end of the
program. All program-related activities will end the night prior to
this date (in some cases you may have a farewell dinner, etc.) On the "Departure" day
you must leave your housing. Do not expect to stay in program-sponsored
housing after the "Departure" date.
