Learn about a unique culture and society in Brussels!

Housing

In Brussels, you will have the choice of living in either a homestay, semi-homestay or boarder situation. A homestay gives you the opportunity to learn first-hand about the customs, food, and languages of Belgium. You have a room in a family's home and share all of your breakfast and evening meals with the family. In a semi-homestay you have a room in a family's home and you share breakfasts and three evening meals per week. Boarder students will not share any meals with the host family. In all arrangements, you are free to come and go as you wish. You are responsible for taking care of your own cleaning, laundry, and other household needs. Based on information you provide pre-departure, an on-site Housing Coordinator will make your housing placement.

Excursions

Students will enjoy a short weekend excursion lead by on-site staff. Past destinations have included various locations in Belgium.

Schedule

Summer 2007

Arrival*: 5/20/07
Orientation: 5/20/07
Excursion to various locations in Belgium: 5/20 - 5/21/07
Final exam and farewell dinner: 7/6/07
Departure**: 7/7/07

* The "Arrival" date is the day on which you need to arrive at your site, NOT the date you leave the U.S. The program starts on the "Arrival" date and this is the day on which program-sponsored housing begins. If you arrive before this date, you are responsible for your own housing. Do not expect to move into program-sponsored housing early.

** The "Departure" date is the official end of the program. All program-related activities will end the night prior to this date (in some cases you may have a farewell dinner, etc.) On the "Departure" day you must leave your housing. Do not expect to stay in program-sponsored housing after the "Departure" date.

Program Dates are subject to change.
