WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management is one of the most prestigious management schools in Germany. WHU's home, Vallendar, is located directly on the famed Rhine River, one of the most beautiful and ancient cultural landscapes in Europe, and is approximately one hour from both Frankfurt and Cologne. This academically rigorous program, coordinated through the Kogod School of Business, enables students to directly enroll at WHU for a semester or entire academic year to complete core, specialization, or elective courses alongside local and international students. Please note that KSB core courses are generally only available at WHU during the spring semester.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
The Kogod School of Business developed this student exchange program with one of the top-ranked business schools in Germany, the WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management. WHU emphasizes an entrepreneurial and innovative approach to business and maintains high academic standards for its diverse student population. As part of this program, AU students directly enroll in WHU for a semester or academic year, joining full-time WHU students as well as up to 100 other exchange students per semester from 30 different countries.
WHU provides an excellent support system for its incoming exchange students, called "Tauschies", including the VIP (Vallendar Integration Program) and numerous social activities. WHU is located in Vallendar, Germany, directly on the famed Rhine River and less than an hour from both Frankfurt and Cologne. The Rhineland is one of the most beautiful and ancient cultural landscapes in Europe, and its advantageous location near France, Luxembourg, Belgium, and the Netherlands makes it an ideal home base for travel throughout Europe.

As a leading German business school, WHU offers a variety of business core and specialization courses in a broad range of fields, including Strategy, Finance, Marketing, Leadership, Innovation & Entrepreneurship, and Supply Chain Management. Sample course options (subject to change depending on availability) include:

- Brand Management (3 credits, equivalent to MKTG-421)
- Business Psychology (3 credits, equivalent to PSYC-300)
- Foundations of Finances (3 credits, equivalent to FIN-365)
- Fun and Games (3 credits, equivalent to ECON-345)
- History of Business Administration (3 credits, equivalent to GERM-336)
- Human Resource Management (3 credits, equivalent to MGMT-381)
- International Marketing (3 credits, equivalent to IBUS-301)
- Introduction to International Economics (3 credits, equivalent to ECON-371)
- Production & Service Operations Management (3 credits, equivalent to ITEC-355)
- Visions in Arts: Introduction to European Arts History (3 credits, equivalent to ARTH-105)

You may take any course offered at WHU provided you meet the prerequisites. If you take a course at WHU that does not already have an AU equivalency, you will need to obtain a course equivalency by submitting course information here. Please note that certain courses are only offered during the fall semester, while other courses are only offered during the spring.
While 80% of undergraduate classes are taught in English, WHU offers sufficient courses taught in German to make it an excellent study abroad option for Kogod's BLC students on the German track. Free German language courses are also available for exchange students.
WHU offers on-campus housing. Once accepted into the program, students complete a housing application indicating their preferences based on location, amenities, and cost; assignments are made on a first come, first served basis.
