Would you recommend this program to other students? Why?
"Absolutely. ITAM is widely considered the best private university in Mexico and one of the best overall universities in Latin America, especially for business. All of my professors were amazing - well established in their field of study and will go out of their way to make sure you understand everything. The students and professors really love all of the exchange students and everyone wants to help you out whenever possible. Also, there are usually 40-50 exchange students, among them only 1-2 americans, so you make friends from all over the world, not just Mexico. It really forces you to adapt."
The Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), located in southern Mexico City, is a private, non denominational, non-profit Mexican institution of higher education. Its mission is to contribute to the comprehensive education of students and to the development of a more free and prosperous society. In order to carry out its teaching and research objectives, ITAM aspires to the highest levels of academic excellence, while supporting a diversity of ideas and a community characterized by respect for ethnic, cultural and religious differences.
Since its establishment in 1946 by Raúl Baillères and a distinguished group of bankers and businessmen, ITAM has sought to form professionals capable of generating and promoting a new development model for Mexico in technical, administrative and economic spheres. The school has added programs in law, political science, international relations, industrial engineering and computer science to its already strong business program.
As a visiting student, you will directly enroll in classes alongside degree-seeking Mexican and International students. There are occasional courses instructed in English, but most courses are instructed in Spanish. There are no language support courses offered, but there is a center for self-guided language assistance.

While there are no dormitories at ITAM, the international office can assist International students in finding housing for the term in Mexico City. Usually students share an apartment with other international students, either close to campus or to the nearest metro station. Students can choose to have an on-campus meal plan at ITAM during their stay. Mexico City also offers plenty of restaurants for students to try authentic Mexican cuisine.
While studying at ITAM, students will have the opportunity to explore the city and become familiar with Mexican culture. As part of ITAM's mission to improve society, the university offers several organizations for students to become involved in the community.
