History Major Advising SheetAU Abroad, in consultation with the Department of History, offers a selection of programs suited for History majors. These programs are recommended based on the academic quality of the host institution’s course offerings in your major. In addition to the following programs, students can also explore other options through AU Abroad.
Normally courses taken abroad must be listed as History or offered through the History department at your host institution abroad in order to qualify for History credit at AU.
History majors can count up to 19 credit hours of courses taken abroad toward their major course requirements. The Department recommends going abroad during the junior year or second semester sophomore year. Senior year is possible if students do their thesis in their Junior year.
