Group excursions give an insight into Moroccan culture and history.

EXCURSIONS AND CROSS-CULTURAL LEARNING

Students will participate in two academic excursions outside Rabat to visit major cities and historical sites in Morocco. These trips, lasting between three and five days each, will be supervised by accompanying faculty members and university staff from Mohammed V University. Organized outings are combined with limited free time, allowing students to explore independently within a structured framework. Possible itineraries may include:

  • The Atlantic Coast and Central Morocco—Marrakech, Essaouira, El Jadida, Casablanca
  • The Imperial Cities and Middle Atlas— Meknes, Fes, Volubilis, Erfoud, Merzougua
  • The Mediterranean Coast and Rif Mountains—Tangiers, Tetouan, Chefchaouen

In addition, throughout the semester, both AMIDEAST and Mohammed V University will organize a variety of cross-cultural learning opportunities. Ranging from experiential learning activities to formal presentations, these events give students the chance to interact with Moroccan students, to learn more about Morocco, and to introduce Moroccans to American culture.
