Excursions

Small town in the countryside.

The Central European Studies and Photography programs
use the context of Central Europe, itself, as a classroom.
Courses regularly engage students with site visits,
and CET arranges extracurricular activities on a weekly
basis. The program also features several organized
excursions. To learn more about Central European history
and politics, students hit the road for a traveling
seminar through Moravia (the eastern half of the Czech
Republic), Slovakia, and Austria. This week-long journey
features academic components such as lectures and
interactive tours. Further expanding students' understanding
of Central Europe is a three-day excursion to Budapest,
home of Central European University. Students also
explore life outside of Prague through a trip to the
UNESCO World Heritage town of Cesky Krumlov and an
excursion to the West Bohemian town of Pilsen.
*Excursions subject to change by semester and may
vary by program track.
