Housing
During their stay in London, students live in student
housing in Kensington, a renowned charming and cultural
section of the city. This central and safe location
is ideal for getting around and experiencing London.
A shared standard kitchenette, with utensils and cutlery,
is available for student use. Once a week, a housekeeping
staff cleans student rooms and clean linens are supplied.
Students should be aware that, compared to the U.S.,
housing facilities are older with rooms that are smaller
and not standard in size or layout. This is common
throughout London.
All student housing facilities are within a few blocks
of Foundation House, the main program facility where
classes are taught. At Foundation House, there are
also staff offices and a student life office.
Meals
No meal plan is available. Students can cook their
meals in the student housing kitchenette or take advantage
of London's restaurant scene.
Schedule
The England: London Enclave takes place every Fall
and Spring semester.
Fall 2008
Arrival*: 9/4/08
Departure**: 12/20/08
Spring 2008
Arrival*: 1/3/08
Departure**: 4/19/08
Mid-term Break: 2/18 - 2/22/08
* The " Arrival " date is the day on which you
need to arrive at your site, NOT the date you leave
the U.S. The program starts on the "Arrival" date
and this is the day on which program-sponsored housing
begins. If you arrive before this date, you are responsible
for your own housing. Do not expect to move into program-sponsored
housing early.
** The " Departure " date is the official end of the
program. All program-related activities will end the
night prior to this date (in some cases you may have
a farewell dinner, etc.) On the "Departure" day you
must leave your housing. Do not expect to stay in
program-sponsored housing after the "Departure" date.
Program Dates are subject to change.
