Cuba: Havana Enclave -
Application, Visa & Costs

The following are additional requirements for the
Cuba program:
1. All Cuba Enclave participants are required to
be on AU's campus the Fall semester prior to the Spring
in Cuba for a rigorous pre-departure program.
2. In addition to the application requirements for
all AU Abroad Enclave programs (see the Apply
page), Cuba applicants must also submit:
- Univeristy of Havana Application form (only available
in paper form in the AU Abroad office)
- 2 letters of recommendation from professors on
university letterhead
- Photocopy of passport details page
- ID photos: 6 photos sized 6cm x 6cm (see Uni.
Havana application form for specific instructions
regarding these photographs)
- ID photos: 6 photos sized 4cm x 4cm (see Uni.
Havana application form for specific instructions
regarding these photographs)
3. After AU Abroad receives a complete application,
students will be contacted within two weeks for an
interview, the final stage of the Cuba: Havana Enclave
application.
4. NOTE: Only American University
students can apply to this program. No exceptions
are made.
Visa Information
U.S. citizens are required to have the proper legal
visa/entrance permit to enter Cuba. The AU Abroad
staff will obtain this visa for each admitted participant
of the Cuba Enclave Program prior to the semester.
