Experience China's ancient culture and traditions.

Housing

During the semester in Beijing, students live in on-campus residence halls. Arrangements for student housing are made in cooperation with Beijing University.

Meals

Students may eat meals on campus at Beijing University or elsewhere (the cost of meals is not included in the program fees).

Schedule

The China: Beijing Enclave takes place every Fall and Spring semester.

Fall 2008

Arrival*: 8/29/08
Departure**: 12/15/08

August 29: Arrival in Beijing.
August 30- 31: Orientation at Peking University and in the city of Beijing.
September 1: Classes begin.
October 1-7: Midterm break and study trip in North China.
November 24-28: Last week of classes and finals.
December 1-13: Study trip around China.
December 14: Farewell dinner.
December 15: Last day of the semester.

Spring 2008

Arrival*: 1/10/08
Departure**: 4/28/08

January 10: Arrival in Beijing. All students will be met at the airport.
January 11-13: Orientation at Peking University and the city of Beijing.
January 14: Classes begin.
February 7-February 13: Chinese New Year break and study trip in North China.
February 14: Classes resume.
April 7-11: Last week of classes and finals.
April 13-26: Study trip around China.
April 27: Farewell dinner.
April 28: Last day of program.

* The "Arrival" date is the day on which you need to arrive at your site, NOT the date you leave the U.S. The program starts on the "Arrival" date and this is the day on which program-sponsored housing begins. If you arrive before this date, you are responsible for your own housing. Do not expect to move into program-sponsored housing early.

** The "Departure" date is the official end of the program. All program-related activities will end the night prior to this date (in some cases you may have a farewell dinner, etc.) On the "Departure" day you must leave your housing. Do not expect to stay in program-sponsored housing after the "Departure" date.
