Climbing the Great Wall!

Whether you're interested in political science, economics, history, international relations, Asian studies, or in Chinese language, there is no better time to be in China. This land of the Great Wall and ancient civilizations has fascinated Americans for centuries. As a rising economic powerhouse and political force, China is undergoing tremendous social change while playing an increasingly major role in today’s world.

Through the Beijing Enclave program you can take an in-depth look at what these dramatic changes might mean for the Chinese people, while exploring this fascinating culture up close regardless of whether you speak the Chinese language of Mandarin or not. Studying in China will give you the opportunity to see why Beijing stands apart from all other capital cities in its history, grandeur, and quest for change. You'll discover that Beijing is a blend of three cities - a city of national treasures, monuments, and parks from the imperial era to the present; a city of political and administrative centers; and a city of dynamism with modern building projects, cultural events, and more than 10 million people.

The Beijing Enclave offers you a broad range of opportunities to learn about this cultural metropolis and to explore the rest of the country as you will be living, studying and interning in Beijing and traveling to other regions. Through classes at China's premier institution of higher learning, Beijing University, field trips, internships and other activities, you will be able to immerse yourself in the wonders of China.
