Application

Please see our Apply page.

**** NEW APPLICATION REQUIREMENT, 4/26/06- Students applying to the Chile program must submit proof of application for an "FBI Identification Record". This record is required for a Chilean student visa for all AU students, regardless of age. "Proof of Application" can be a copy of the submitted application OR proof of postage from the United States Postal Service or a national mail courier (Fed Ex, UPS, etc.) with the address of a national or local FBI center.

Visa Information

Upon payment of the confirmation deposit, AU Abroad staff will provide students with two visa letters - one from AU and one from the host university in Chile. Students are responsible for obtaining their own Chilean Student Visa. A Brazilian tourist visa is needed for the field trip to Brazil. These are normally applied for on-site after arrival in Santiago. Tourist visas for Peru are neede, but obtained upon entry to Peru. Non-US citizens often need visas for all three countries and should check with the Chilean, Peruvian, and Brazilian Embassies to learn about any special requirements.

All students are responsible for contacting the Chilean Embassy, the Peruvian Embassy, and the Brazilian Embassy to find out what type of visa they will need for the semester. All students are responsible for gathering the additional documents needed to obtain their student/tourist visas.
